Ken the manual says its the "check engine lamp". it lights up when there is a fault on the engine management.

If it is the engine management light then a fault has occurred or nothing has happened and you have done something to trigger one off, I had this on my Speed triple. The best thing is to phone the shop, they may tell you to bring it to the shop or get someone to run it there, either way the fault needs to be cleared, I'm not sure about Buell but apparently the Triumphs can go into safety mode with a fault showing and only allow you to crawl the bike home/dealers, so its best to get this done right away. Its not expensive ( unless something really sinister has triggered off the light ) but for what they will do it will be around £40 to run it through a diagnostic and to clear the fault.

My engine managment light went on with the Triumph because I took the battery off and it triggered a pump fault. So maybe changing a fuse or something caused it?.
