Buell XT info

Thinking of a Buell XT.

Had a Cyclone M2 a few years ago and it was a reliability nightmare.

Whats the new engine like now that the Sportster engine has been superceeded?

Any other shortcomings?

Her indoors wants a bit of comfort, but riding with non Harley mates the Street Bob does struggle both speed and handling wise.

Any info would be welcome. Got an offer of road test at Foundry but I know my heart will win and my mind will just say f8ck it, have it

Ta

Re: Buell XT info

The XT still uses a Sportster derived engine, although these days it is substantially different and even more powerful. They are hardly a model of reliability, but better bikes than your earlier one.

I own a Buell and a Harley, so won't discourage you from getting both, but what is it about your Street Bob that is wanting? That can be pepped up....

Re: Buell XT info

Cheers for the info.

The Bob just cant cut it with even ordinary biggish jap bikes.
Riding the poor old thing at its limits just to keep up at the mo

The absolute speed isnt really a prob.

Have stage 1 engine. Next is handling, suspension, brakes, screen etc. How much cash can u chuck at a bike when something else may do the job cheaper and probably better.

Want to stay HDRCG so Buell seems to be the best and most practical way. And the xt also has built in luggage etc.

Mick Not everyone’s cup of PG m8, but they’re fast, handle superb. very comfortable over distance and the added luggage is a bonus. Couple of us in the region have them and a mate of mine has just bought a 09 and luvs it . really needs time and some miles to appreciate. Have a long as you can test ride and check out some of the Buell web sites for more info.
