Re: Talgarth meeting point Kev?

We had a good ride to Wales and were all dressed for the weather.

All arrived safe but cold.

Friday night was great, meeting old friends and new, eating too much, drinking too much, talking too much - perfick

Saturday morning the field was taken over by the usual crowd of grey zombies crawling slowly out of tents and staggering across the field into the portaloos where they created strange noises and a green fog that drifted up into the wintry sky

After the full English (Welsh?) brekky we all returned to our former selves and the talk was all about the impending weather forecasts that warned of rain, sleet, snow, gale-force winds, plagues of locusts and general death and disaster. So most of us decided to feck off a bit rapid and save ourselves.

We packed wet, muddy tents onto our wet, muddy bikes and headed home.

I rode back with my wingman 'Dude' and, as we both lived close to J13, M1, I let 'Sally Sat Nav' lead us home by the quickest route. We actually had quite a good ride but the wind was getting stronger all the time so I was glad when we finally made it.

A real shame for all the people who put so much effort into putting on the rally, but we still had a great time even if it was shorter than we'd hoped.

Would I go again?........... In a heartbeat Great rally in a great town

Re: Talgarth meeting point Kev?

Yup agree with you Kev, Muz and I rode home a bit earlier and decided to go M4 as I didn't fancy the back roads if it was pissing down and loose gravel and leaves on the road....

It was a shame as the regional club organisers had gone to a lot of work putting up marquees, and getting loads of food to serve and a hog roast for Sat' afternoon but by that time many of us had left.

Well we tried and paid the money so hopefully they broke even.

The Friday night was good with bands in the town hall just across from the rally site the locals like having us there spending our money in the pubs and eateries so not all bad.

Friday just arrived....

me at talgarth just arrived.jpg

I took a few pixs Sat' morning as it stopped raining for a few minutes!

Re: Talgarth meeting point Kev?

Hats off to all that made the effort.
Bloody shame for the organisers, but what can you do?

Glad you are all home safe, if a little moist, I was quite concerned as the weather was getting worse

Re: Talgarth meeting point Kev?

Well guys,a very good call those who left early. It was 1 degree this morning, snow on the hills and ice on the tent!
The highlight for those who stayed was to see our very own Kev Scrivner singing
'Wishing Well' with an exceptional band called Celtic Pride, and he did it very well.
I have a photo which I will try and upload later.
Good to see ya one and all.....

......Ice, snow, not a problem but after reading that I'm well pleased I left early.
