Re: Northern peeps meet

Lo mate!

Just suggest a time and a place and I'll try to be there! The weather's not looking good around here this week, but I guess if it's peeing down we could always resort to the car!

Re: Northern peeps meet

All you riders in the Beds area - how about meeting up Saturday morning and riding in to Twatford together

The weather looks good and these are a great bunch of guys who are riding down from 'Oop North' just to see us

Let me know here or on pm and we'll organise a meeting point.

And I promise not to break down on the bloody motorway again

Kev

Re: Northern peeps meet

I'm afraid my bike is out of action on Saturday. The dealer messed up the fitting of my new tyres, so I'm either dropping it back there tomorrow and they're bringing it back midday Saturday, or they're going to collect it midday Saturday and drop it back next week. Either way, I'm going to be without the bike.

Re: Northern peeps meet

I can't believe your putting up with that crap! Maybe next week!

If I had not met you last week I would have thought well ok but you came across as sound....

Tim WTF are you doing using a dealer to change your tyres (they messed it up!) and your STILL using them?

If they eff'd it up they should do it straight away if you can possibly trust them?

If you had asked on here we could have told you where to go and have themm done while you wait!

So what's the story with them?

Re: Northern peeps meet

Calm down Baza, you're more uptight than I was!

I did actually post on Central South asking for local tyre fitters, but wanted somewhere I could just ride the bike in and get it done. I don't have time or confidence in my mechanical ability to be removing wheels myself, plus I don't have a bike lift. Ride-in places were limited, and the dealer came out the same price as my local Yamaha dealer, and I *thought* they'd do a better job. At the end of the day I wanted someone who I thought would fit and adjust everything properly, and assumed an HD dealer would be better than a local Yamaha dealer who said "I'll have to check we've got tools to fit...". And Lel and Jobbie did recommend the HD dealer personally!

The dealer did do it while I waited last week, and the tyre installation was safe (so far). However, they made a mess of the wheels. They came back covered in black gunk which has dried on, oily finger prints, a selection of different weights, all erratically stuck on, and dubious balancing due to the various weights. Just lack of attention to detail. Thing is, I didn't really look til I got home as I was in a rush due to the job taking longer than I'd expected. My fault there. Anyway, they said "No worries, we'll sort it, whatever it takes", and offered to collect the bike, sort it and bring it back. So although the quality of the job was below expectations, they've done what they can so far to make amends. I was mad about the lack of quality last week when I realised I spent half a day riding there and waiting, only for a substandard job, and I wished I hadn't bothered, but I've calmed down now. I can ride the bike, I just want it cleaned up and rebalanced, and if they'll collect it, fine. Just so happens it'll be Saturday. I could ride over there now and they'll do it while I wait again, but I'm not retired.

Chill mate, go and have a cig.

Baz - I'm relying on you to have fixed this bloody weather for the weekend! We had the monsoon last year - I expect blazing sun this year

Pound coins at the ready
