Can I get into Baldock Services from A508?

From memory, when I used to go to Thetford, the road takes you through the industrial estate part of MK so might be the best bet.
Dave, if you mean the A507 which runs in from the west from MK, and Ampthill to the motorway junction then yes, they are accesible.
The services are off the motorway slightly.

Mel,
please come along, there are fuel opportunities at Baldock, adjacent to Black Bear and at Sudbury where, having ridden this route on a Sportster a couple of times, I used to stop.
We also stopped there for fuel when Tim and I rode this route earlier in the year too.
As to etiquette, I don't think there is any--other than common sense applies.

A.

Re: Saturday 21st June--Ride to Suffolk.

Dave, if you follow A421 from Buckingham through to A507 at Ridgemont, you practically pass my house so we could meet up and ride over together.

I use the 507 all the time to get to Stansted so know the road - its around 45-50mins from my place to the Baldock services. (PM sent)

Mel - do come along. I always find a ride out great fun and you just fall in with the rest of us and leave blocking etc to the more experienced riders.

You'll soon fit into the natural, staggered formation that we adopt. And you think your bikes loud - wait till all you can hear are the pipes of the guy in front of you !!

I'm looking forward to this one - Andy has spent so much time organising it along with Tim and many others - it'll be great to meet up with Baff and others from Anglia.

Remember to bring your cameras - we gotta get piccys

...........just make sure youve got enough petrol...........

Re: Saturday 21st June--Ride to Suffolk.

Hi All,
tomorrow is all set and ready.
However, the weather forecast is bl**dy awful.

I can't say I fancy riding around rural Suffolk in the wet so I intend to get up early in the morning and make a call on the weather then.
I'll post here on Saturday morning with any changes of plan.
So check here before you depart--PLEASE.

Regards and fingers crossed.
Andy

Which forecast are you using Tim? I could with something a bit more optimistic than Metcheck to cheer me up! Gutted that it looks like being rained off.

Re: Saturday 21st June--Ride to Suffolk.

Well, I'm set to go

I'm meeting up with Limey Dave near J13 M1 and we're riding over to Baldock for around 09:00.

If there's anyone else from MK/Bedford wants to link up with us, let us know and we can ride over together.

I expect to get wet early in the day but we've all got waterproofs and anyway, we're well 'ard 'arley riders innit!!

If the day's a complete washout then we may just end up doing Black Bear then back home - lets hope it brightens up eh!!

See y'all on the morrow

Kev

Re: Saturday 21st June--Ride to Suffolk.

Works for me,I'll be leaving home early so I'll get an update from Kev when I get there.
I've re-cut the treads in my old Dunlops so want to try them out anyway.

We can always go and drip on someones showroom floor and every few minutes exclaim "HOW MUCH?"
