Help For Hero's charity gig by Rockbottom!

Hi

We, (Rockbottom, the band wot played at Central Sarf's party at Lawnmower Marks gaff) are going to play a gig for charity on Saturday 30 August in Harlington, Beds (see below).

The Charity is Help For Heros Help for Heroes - A charity for the wounded in Britain’s current conflicts. Have a look at their web site, but in summary it provides support to members of all the armed forces injured in service, beyond what HM Gov and NHS provide, which is seems to me is somewhat limited. While IMHO HM Gov should do more, they don't, meanwhile its our chaps (and chapesses) out there taking it all.

My nephew and niece are both in RAF, Malcolm has done two tours of Iraq and two tours of Afghanistan (he is helicopter armourer), my niece Rose's husband Chris is RAF bomb disposal (what a hell of a job!). While thankfully they have returned whole (at least in body) there are others less fortunate.

The gig is at my local, The Carpenters Arms, Harlington Beds, LU5 6LS. Band plus supporting disco, real ales (nice), lagers, ciders usual thing, Lynda is putting on some food too, plus raffle etc.

Please try to come along to support the Charity, if you can't make it I am trying to set up a web site for donations.

Let me know if you are coming along so we can plan numbers etc. but don't let that stop dropping in for an hour on "spec" either.

I can provide some free accommodation, although it might be an inflatable mattress on the floor! bring your own sleeping bag, and bacon!

Just FYI we raised £410, our target was £250, so could call that a success. Money duly sent to Help4Heroes charity.
