Thumbs up Hilts' Anorak Excursions #1

OK, we spoke about it last year and ended up doing nowt about it!

So, Sat 12th May, I'm proposing a trip to RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, home of 'the Dambusters'.

If you pre-book, the RAF will take you on a tour of the museum there!

http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafscampton/aboutus/rafscamptonmuseum.cfm

I reckon about 3 hours up the A1 from WGC. We need to be pretty precise on numbers for the RAF so if you're REALLY up for it, let me know!

'Course, if anybody from Anglia, or anyone else wants to join us that'd be great!!

I'm off on that day, it's very local to me and would be interested.

If you wanted to extend the day, within 39 miles of Scampton is Vulcan XM607 at the viewing area Waddington, the Battle of Britain Flight and other interesting planes at Coningsby and the Aviation Heritage Museum at East Kirkby.

I'd quite like a trip up to the flatlands but the end of April to the beginning of June is chocka. Money isn't going to be as plentiful, so allocated to the various runs & rallies already.

It's probably a 300 mile round trip from Sudbury, and as most of the rallies are at least that, I probably can't justify the cost for fuel.

Geez, just worked out that's around £40-50!

Sorry. Rallies havta take priority :-(

Re: Hilts' Anorak Excursions #1

Fancy this, and it's a free rally weekend for me, may even combine it with Helen going to her sisters north of Peterborough and I go there on the way home back on Sunday. 300 mile round trip for me as well but may be broken up on way home. Nice one Dave.

We can arrange to meet people en-route Bedford area.

Like the true Coasters tradition we need FOOD!!!!!!!!!

AI seems good to me rather than the M1.

Chilly you may need to come south to warm the engine up and meet at LITTLE CHEF, BLACK CAT ROUNDABOUT

That covers Oxford and Bedford guys meet up.
