New laptop

I am looking to replace my Toshiba Satellite 1900-303 laptop with something more up to date.

I have up to 750 quid (but dont want to spend that much) Would like wireless internet connection. What should I be looking for in a new machine? Any recommendation?

Hi

Depends what you want to do with it, but if you go to Dell UK they have some great deals

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/de...=uk&l=en&s=gen

Tailor your laptop to do what you want it to do.

This may help

Re: New laptop

Here are a couple of site to try

www.novatech.co.uk
They give a good fast turn around.

www.overclockers.co.uk
Also good, they have lots of trick goodies for computers there.

Is a Laptop necassary, you do sirt of go down a dead end road with them, they are not easily repairable and not easy to upgrade. The ol tin boxes are so cheap these days

Re: New laptop

www.technoworld.com try them, got loads of laptops. I have used them twice in the past. The lsat one is an Acer, got built in wireless-DVD burner etc. No particular makes to recommend, Sony make nice ones with good screen but spares are pricy.
Happy shopping.

other sites are available.

Re: New laptop

Heard more than one story that Dell's service is getting worse and worse.

A good deal in the UK can be had at www.meshcomputers.com

If you don;t udnerstand anything about computers it may be worth going for the 1st year on site support. If nothing goes wrong in the first year it should keep going nicely till it blows up in 4 years time.

Cheers

Mike
