Hi Marie Anne, I have a Freecom 250 gig external hd,It's USB connected but is powered from a seperate mains adapter.
I had no personal preference regarding make or model, the drive space and cost were my main conscern although I do have a Freecom external CD writer.I am pleased with both.
The drive cost me £100 in a sale at PC World which I think is reasonable.
Not much help I know,If you want more info post a new thread with your questions, plenty of people on the forum who have a great deal more knowledge than me.
PS: Hope you and Geoff have a nice trip down to Brighton tomorrow.

I like the old Doom and Quake. Cant stand stratergy games, i have to think lol.

I think you can get the old games to work in XP but you have to make a special short cut to them to make then run in DOS mode. Trouble is i have forgotton how to lol. These things get left behind as all the new stuff comes along.

Re: External Hard Drive...Help!

i have a freecom 250gb external hard drive, usb connection, excellent for storing all my own stuff music films etc get them for about 80 quid in pc world, u would probally get a larger one now for the same money, ratbag, use the ntfs as when transferring data, fat32 will onl;y let u store something like 2 gb at a time, most films or video files are at least 4.3gb ,so start it up in ntfs;)
