New Printer

On the look out for a new printer. Want to spend about 70 quid max but less if poss

Needs to be colour, give good photo prints and be cheap on consumables

Any suggestions

You'll need to check this but last time I looked Canon were the best bet for consumables as the ink tanks came seperate from the print heads,

We've got a local shop that cleans, refurbishes, and fills the ink cartridges for about half the price you can buy them new for. Not all cartridges can be refilled so it might be worth cheeking out, before you buy.

Some cartridges are avalible "non branded" on various internet sites, making big savings on the official product, but often the colours are very weak.

stuarty i know the pennies saved to a scotsman count thats why they have top notch harleys ma tongues goin all brown , but recently ma printer went tits up and ma woman took me too tesco,s got a lexmark z645 with 2 one colour one black FREE cartridges FOR under 30 quid and ya can peel the tops off wi a knife an refill em it works ok fer me good prints on the shiney photo paper anall;) gaz

I use an Epson printer.Had the same one for about 3 years, never let me down,and I use it...a lot,although it did stop working once telling me I had to have it serviced (it has some sort of counter),quick search on Google and I downloaed an app that reset it,been faultless since. The only Epson ink that has been in it is the set that came with the printer.Have used compatibles every time.
Around £8 for 1 black + 1 Colour cartridge. Can be bought even cheaper,but I stick with a brand I like,as not all compats are equal in my experience.
