AVG Free version 7.1

Anybody using this should be aware that Grisoft will be switching it off on Feb 18th and you will be without protection.

The new version 7.5 free is a reinstall not an update and can be downloaded from

Did it screw up your e mail?
I've just installed it and if I leave it on the default settings I can neither send nor receive mail.

Re: AVG Free version 7.1

I have AVG 7.5 running along with Avast, both seem to be good bedfellows with no clashes. However I had to uninstall my Norton 2004 virus protection cos Avast did'nt like it. The subscription for Nortons had run out at Christmas anyway.

So far so good but the Avast has slowed down my e-mails due to it scanning each one as I view it, no problem as it's only a few seconds.

I've used AVG for years now on a couple of machines and have to say it's been bloody excellent. Top marks to them. Am justing installing 7.5 now..
