VHS to DVD.....

……..Mrs P has accumulated a vast array (200+) of tennis games recorded on VHS cassettes. I want to transfer them to DVD. I was thinking of buying a second VHS player (£34), joining this up to my computer and recording the cassettes onto DVD. Apart from spending £150 on a combined DVD/VHS recorder, does anyone have any better suggestions and/or software tips?

Re: VHS to DVD.....

You can also go the TV card route as well. I have this setup and it works just fine.

A little bonus is that if you watch films by pay as you view, you can record them on a DVD but you can straight onto the PC.

Re: VHS to DVD.....

I'd go Pinnacle capture device from somewhere like PC world. Super to convert to DivX and then transfer onto one of these for storage/playback, unless you particularly want DVDs.

Re: VHS to DVD.....

I'm sorry but I just reread this. 200+ tennis games!!!! I would suggest an accident with a large magnet was a more suitable and cheaper alternative.
