No sound on YouTube...

Can anyone suggest why I can't get sound in YouTube or the welcome sounds etc on AOL (my ISP), and yet I can get sound when I use Realplayer and the like?
I have been thru several unsuccessful online help sessions with AOL and reinstalled the AOL software but still no joy.
I guess the soundcard must be OK for the other things to work.
Even CD's and DVD's are fine but not YouTube.
Bl##dy annoying so any pointers gratefully accepted.

Possibly a Codec issue. Download the KLITE pack - Here (Use the standard pack) and install. Try that first before we look at other options.

Yes mate.
DVD, CD etc all OK.
AOL greetings were OK but have since disappeared again.
Recently moved house (not that that's particularly relevant) but it was fine until then.
Just set up shop at new place with same broadband ISP (AOL) and it's all gone tits-up.

Thanks for that mate but when I right click on the video, and click on the "Advanced" button, the screen locks up and nothing else happens.
I'm running Vista if that makes a difference!!

Vista - nope, it works just the same. You've either got a duff/corrupted flash player or some malware.

Go here and click on the Get Flash Player 10 button. Try installing that.

Still no good.
I've got a few problems at minute.
My AVG and Windows Defender can't get their updates and everytime I boot up it tries and fails to install an MTP driver...whatever that's for!!!
I have scanned the system with the Windows scanner, AVG, RegPro, Spyware Blaster and Spybot and the things that have been detected have now been binned.
I think the whole machine needs a good looking at by someone alot more "in the know" than me.
Thanks for your help though mate.
