Formatting request of my sd card???

Have you tried downloading them with your camera connected to the laptop ?

I have had a number of problems downloading pictures from the 4gig cards, sometimes it's the software package you're using. In the end I've resorted to using the camera effectively as an external disc drive and copied the files over that way.

If the card worked in your camera, it should work with the other stuff you've got.

It is a sat nav sd card of USA that I want to back up a copy of.

tought it was a bit odd

have you tried bluetoothing it to the computer from the sat nav ? It could be that the sat nav has a different operation system to the laptop, hence the desire of the laptop to reformat the card.

Baza, I (as usual) am probably writing utter crap but do you think one of the 'Cloning' programs would copy it. They seem to identify all the data on cards etc and might download the info.
