If you use Firefox there are YouTube downloaders available as an AddOn.
You will then need to download a free FLV player to play the clips.

Is it MPEG4 (*mp4) to play in Media Player?

I want to download some vids and put them on disc to send to the US and they will need to play in Media Player.

Media Player doesnt play MP4 files .Couple of things you could do.
Convert the videos to wmv using one of the many free conversion programs, or the easier option,stick a copy of the VLC installer on the disc and tell your mate to install that instead.
