Canon IP3500 and Vista
Hi All

Anyone have a clue why my driver software keeps failing to install for my Canon IP3500 printer?
I'm running Vista 32 bit and have the correct driver (I think) but it just will not load and run.......STRESSED OR WHAT!!!!!!!

  • Are you sure you have the right driver this one ?
  • I'm pretty sure that you have to install the driver with the printer disconnected and then plug the printer in when it's installed

That's the one I have Roger and everything is happy til it reaches the bit that says " Registering file information" then it pops up a "Failed to save file" error message.
Or words to that effect at least!!

It stalls during "Registering program information" and then the error message "An error occurred while files were being copied" appears.

It should produce an install log file. Can you find it?

No, it aborts the whole op when it creates the error message.
Unless I'm missing something somewhere.
Where would the log be?

Does it create a directory in program files (x86) ?
Otherwise use thr search function to find all new files created today

No.
The only Canon file in the Program Files section is for the user manual I downloaded separately.
That downloaded ok.

Is your system XP upgraded to Vista or a direct Vista install? I suspect the latter.
