Firewall question for Roger?

Roger, installed and now updated Avira - phew!
After reading your advice i now want to add one of the firewalls, is there a particular one that you would recomend that i could install and then just leave to do its own thing and not worry about ?
Thanks in advance
simon

Re: Firewall question for Roger?

Roger recommended to me COMODO a FREE Firewall. Works great.

Comodo Firewall

Re: Firewall question for Roger?

Funnily enough just updated this today as I've just dropped one off my list. In my preferred order:

Firewall
A firewall is an an essential piece of software that prevents unauthorized access to your computer via the internet. It is you first line of defence against malware & viruses. Only install one firewall as more than one may cause conflicts and slow down your system drastically. Windows XP (SP2 onwards) and Vista include an integrated firewallbut I don’t recommend it. It doesn't block everything that may try to get in, and the entire firewall is written to the registry. As various kinds of malware hack the Registry in order to disable the Windows firewall, it's far preferable to install one of the excellent third party solutions.

You should also check your bank, some of them are giving firewall software away free.
Seems its cheaper to do this that having all that money ripped off from customers then having to pay them back.

I get Kaspersky from Barclays
