Just by chance yesterday evening I met Ian Mutch, the main MAG man in my local pub! He came in with a biker (non-Harley) friend of mine. I had met him back in the '70's when I was a Traffic Cop and he was leading a demo somewhere, can't remember what it was about but I was always a MAG supporter. I've invited him to our Cornish Cream rally and hope that if he attends, he will be given free entry for all he has done for bikers over the years. I did remind him that back then he had a lot more hair, and I had a lot less!!
See you all there, Penny and I are available to help out anywhere we are needed.
Off to the Lakes rally next week, can't be any wetter than Cornwall at the moment!

In those days of course, one had to abide by certain standards of the Metropolitan Police, but I had longish hair before I joined up, and reverted to type when I retired!

There was a PC at Nine Elms that had a splendid handlebar tash,we used to call him Ambitious.He rode a LE,and used to say how he'd nick all of us when he got his Triumph.He was a nice guy,unlike his replacement "Big Ears",who paid the price of being an arse.We lost count of the times they had to come and pick his bike up,or rescue it.
In the end they sent him in a van to pick the pies up for the station.
