Ride for life 27th Sept 09

Message from Annette (GNHCT)

Subject: Ride4Life Sunday 27th September 2009

"Hi Essjay. We have almost completed The Cuddle Centre for HIV/AIDS babies and toddlers who are orphans. Now we need to quip it!! on Sunday 27th Sept we are doing another Ride4Life and have opened it up to everyone who is a biker. Trying to get 5,000 bikes on the road at £5 a bike to purchase the hospital beds which are £27,000. Yep its been hard going and I have just returned from my 89th trip
to the project and no holiday for 9 years! but its worth it.

The ride out is from Truro football club the route still being planned. Short and Sweet and back
to the bar at Truro football club. Can you rally the troops. PLEASE. Annette x"

“Ride for Life”

To be held on

Sunday 27th September 2009

Calling all serious motor cyclists in Cornwall

Please will you help us to raise urgently needed funds to complete and equip a special medical unit for HIV/AIDS babies and toddlers? This will be for little children that require 24/7 medical care and will be known as:

“The Cornish Cuddle Centre”

www.gnhct.org

Ride 4Life has been carried out twice in the past by the Harley Davidson Riders Club Of Great Britain who raised a staggering £6.500 which helped set up the present medical clinic in South Africa where over 10,000 patients now receive FREE Medical Treatment.

“Without their help thousands of people would have died”

We then had many orphans brought to us and to date have over 8,000 small children in our foster care system. We urgently need the new medical unit, and we are working our socks off trying to open it for the first week of December 2009. Please help us. Please.

Ride 4 Life Sunday 27th September 2009

Leave from Truro Football Club at 10 am and ride down the A30 to Penzance and then up the other side to Launceston and back to Truro Football Club for lunch where they are putting on a ploughman’s and a pint at a special rate for GNHCT.The route depends on the weather.

Collected funds from this particular ride will go right out to the project to purchase hospital beds and cots for “The Cornish Cuddle Center”

You can either help raise funds by sponsorship and collect forms from us. Or you can make a personal donation. Please visit our website and see what we work we carry out.

I look forward to the pleasure of meeting you soon,

Sincerely

Annette Montague-Thomas

Re: Ride for life 27th Sept 09

Annette was quite excited when I arrived as I think she was expecting a big Harley turnout. In the end there were only two others, a Sportster and a V-Rod, not people I knew. In the end there were around 50 bikes altogether, most of the run was on the A30 and after complaints about keeping up the speed was kept down to a painful 50 - 60. On the return run from Launceston some of us broke ranks and headed for home at our own pace.
Still it was a good cause, the sun shone and it was better than doing the gardening.

Nice one Ian, I was unable to make it due to a prior commitment, I have to admit that the route was not very exciting, it seems to be getting harder and harder to raise monies for good causes
