Not as much as the owner wants!!! I bet he is asking about nine grand or something, right?

Rule 1; you never get back what you put into that kind of project.

Having said that, it is really quite nice. If it is MOT'd and the frame is by a reputable source, you have a lot of the hard work done for you there....but you wouldn't want to ride around on someone else's vision for long.......you would want to make it your own.

Re: Searching for a hard tail.

£4 to 5K and even at that I feel he'll be lucky to sell. That sporty hardtail is ok, but only ok, its very generic, doesnt look to have anything 'special' about it.. just my opinion mind.. Its not a good time to be selling impractical 'boys toys'..

Give you an example.. last week an S&S engined Ness daytec framed softail that I built in 2000, which back then cost about £25,000, sold on ebay for 'only' £8500. It was in mint condition hadnt been used much since I sold it on 4 years ago, back then I got £14,000 for it, which I thought was ok. You have to be really lucky or a genius builder to get back anywhere near what it costs to build a full on custom. Sad but true..

Absolutely. Old boy in the Brit bike game once told me that any special is worth the sum of its parts. A bit simplistic but I tend to veer towards that way of thinking.

Re: Searching for a hard tail.

How about this one..

Britchopper.co.uk • View topic - The donor bike

built by a well known builder, and I would imagine the £7K price is negotiable..

Re: Searching for a hard tail.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've just sold my fatboy today - so the search is even more on than before.

Lee, thanks for the link not my kinda thing, too dainty IMO.

I like quite macular/ harsh looking bikes, with fat rear wheels or Zero Engineering inspired.

Opened conversations with Frank - we'll see what the result is and go from there, gonna text him in the morning.

Keep the possible candidates coming gents - it's appreciated, thanks.

Here's one I quite like the look of, what do you collectively think?
