Edelbrock Carb parts?

'Lo

Break me in gently, it's my first post.

I've got a pair of Edelbrock Qwiksilver II carbs on my much-modified FXR.

I've stuck it into a rolling road, and up to 3800 rpm it's great (torque maxed out at 94), but after that it goes to pot. I know there's an ignition module problem, and I've got a replacement Screamin' Eagle unit winging its way from the US now.

To say it's running rich on 1/2 to full throttle is a massive understatement. I understand the Ignition unit might be affecting the fuel readout, but.... the blurb I've seen from Edelbrock says that the carbs would originally have been supplied with No 8 needles, and a pair of 7s and 9s to allow adjustment if required. Mine have......wait for it...... 16s. So I want to try smaller needles. Closed to mid throttle, everything is hunky dory.

Anyone know of an Edelbrock carb supplier in the UK? I'm normally pretty savvy online, but I'm drawing a blank so far.

Any help/advice will be gratefully accepted.

Re: Edelbrock Carb parts?

Hi zodiac list them in their parts book, but the needles range from 130 to 181.So my guess is your needle is a 160 or 161.It is possible they've now changed the needle numbers.I seem to rember when they fist came out that the needles were colour coded but I might be wrong.Try your local indi to order parts.
hope this helps kev

Thanks Kev, much appreciated.

I'll call Krazy Horse tomorrow, they deal with Zodiac.

Re: Edelbrock Carb parts?

For the needle numbers try

Edelbrock - Performance Parts for HarleysŪ - Carb Accessories

For buying you could try Steve Piper 02380 641280

I think that 161 is meant to be 16-1 (Zodiac typo)
