Digital Tachometer

Does anybody know where I can get a digital tach that mounts on top of the handlebar clamp (kinda 3" or 4" long and maybe 1" to 2" wide) or maybe better yet mounted into or on top of the handlebar clamp!

I've tried Dakota Digital, Custom Chrome, kuryakin etc.. and all sorts of other manufactures on the web, but nothing that really takes my fancy.

I'm probably asking for the impossible, but I can always dream

Any help would be great....cheers

Re: Digital Tachometer

Nearest I can see is Dakota HLY-5021
3.5"X2"X1.75" but it looks like a bar clamp.
The HLY-6000 combined speedo/tach looks like it fits to top clamp.

If you want it for performance I would look to race car technology and have LED change lights set in top clamp. It takes too long for focal length to adjust between road and small numbers.
If you're really serious, use analogue tach mounted with red line at 12 oclock, then you just look at position of needle, not read the numbers.

Re: Digital Tachometer

I've just ordered one of these from MotoGadget. The speedo has various modes including tacho only and the display comes on it's own or with the clamp. check out the website at - * * * * | **| || motogadget * * * *

pretty expensive but cheaper and smaller than the Dakota Digital I have at the moment - oooh, and it's blacker!!

It's a nice bit of kit and good quality. It says that with minimal knowledge 'anyone' can fit it but I don't know, my knowledge of electrics isn't very good. What I might do is scan the instructions and post them on the Forum so someone can interpret them for me!!
