After this bike being off the road 13 years, being dragged 13,000 miles around the world in boxes I'm finally starting to put it back together

Did you buy in NZ then?
There's still the odd Ironhead floating about, but most Harleys ya see are brand new with lots of rich chap wearing riders.

was bought in NZ from christchurch motorcycles

kept melting front pistons, the last time the conrod turned a purpleish shade rendering it useless

had the motor right apart and fitted new s&s rods & twin plugged the heads

had the frame taken baken back to bare metal and repainted

then lost interest in bike and moved over to the UK, bike and parts have just been pulled out of storage, surprisingly everything appears to be there in one box or another

Was the engine running while you were taking these photos? Must have been by the blurring.
