jirehcycles

In a previous thread, Neilshovel mentioned Aftermarket & Custom Motorcycle Parts - Harley Davidson Parts - Cycles . I was just wondering if anybody has dealt with them and if they are any good as their prices seem pretty good.

Re: jirehcycles

Not heard of them myself, however after a lot of trial and error have found a couple of good US suppliers:

eBay Store - Rob's Cycle Supply: Hand Controls, Exhaust, Lighting License Plate

And
eBay Store - JT'S CYCLE PARTS: HARLEY PARTS, LARGE, XXLARGE

The 1st one, Robs, is good if you know what you want (catalogue part numbers etc). Supplies HD parts, V&H, Drag Specialities and from the Bikers Choice (Biker's Choice Home Page).

Neither need to be 'sat on' and respond well to ebay messaging. They both supply whats on their websites, however this not represent what they can get ahold off. They also both using track and confirm with UPS, so you can easily log into the UPS website and see the progress of your parcel making its way to the UK and then when through customs, you can track the rest of the journey on the parcel force web site. If you want a faster delivery time, then pay any customs charge when the UK tracking number is assigned (after customs) which means parcel force will not hold onto the parcel, send you a letter, wait for you to pay the charge and then deliver, they will just deliver.

With Robs, when I have used him he has marked the parcel value down which makes the passage through customs a bit smoother, however means your parcel is not insured for its full value. This may not be a problem if you pay, thru paypal, using a credit card as the cc will have its own purchase insurance. Must admit I prefer to ask the supplier to add on the HMRC commodity code which you can get from customs and excise. Okay you spend a little more, however your parcel is insured, your not cheating tax and you still get a great bargain (ie my big shots would have been £450'ish in UK, I paid about £200 with import taxes etc, my sundowner would have been £270'ish in UK, I paid just under £200 with import taxes etc).

If you want more details on how to contact HMRC import office (it can be a game finding the right phone number), send me a PM, I have it written down somewhere and would need to dig it out. Hope this helps ..

Re: jirehcycles

Im sure your are looking for others opinions but i will give mine again anyway! cant recomend them enough! especially with current exchange rate, in 4 years of buying stuff from them (over 25k dollars apparently!) never had a single fault with them, there stuff is good and cheap and is normally on my doorstep in less than 5 days, you pay alot for shipping as they only ship UPS and you will get stung for the import duty etc, but the prices that they sell at you are still getting a complete bargain! i know someone who ordered a Ultima motor from them the other day a 100" El Bruto, was with them within 5 days and cost less than 2k including all shipping and taxes, you cant beat them sort of prices!

Re: jirehcycles

One interesting fact about Jireh is that they are kind of the front-of-house shop for wholesalers Midwest Cycle Supply...and a LOT of Midwest dealers in the States are furious that the prices they are charged by Midwest for stock parts are DEARER than what we the public can pay for the same part online from Jireh.

Many shops have now dropped Midwest or refuse to order their parts, apparently.

It's a tough business at every end, it seems....

(MidWest build the Ultima motors, which yes do have a great reputation)

Re: jirehcycles

from what i have been told (which could be rubbish) the bloke that owns Jireh cycles is the son of the bloke that owns midwest which i guess is why gets such a good bulk discount which is then passed on to us the customers.
