| Dyna front end
Ive got a 99 FXD which has been fitted with a wide glide front end (standard dyna fork legs wheel and brake). My plan for the winter is to replace the front brake with a brake from an 04 softail and powder coat the fork legs and put on a wider rim and tyre. I have offered up the softail brake caliper to the dyna fork leg and it wont bolt straight on, so the plan is to buy a set of softail lower fork legs and use these. The big question is will the front wheel spindle from the 99 dyna fit 2000-2007 softail fork leg? Will the upper fork tubes fit into the newer fork lowers? Anybody got any ideas? Im working abroad at the minute so i cant measure the diameter of the spindle. Thanks in advance. Ean Last edited by ean; 25-10-2007 at 08:42 PM. |

Buy a later set of Dyna fork sliders and use them. The fork tubes you have are 39mm diameter, the softail fork tubes are 42mm diameter. Look on eBay, lots of riders change the standard ones for chrome before they even hit the road.
