Question Oversize fork tubes - advice

Picked up a 4 degree raked wide glide kit a while ago.

Think with standard length tubes it is going to make the trail too short.

Think I might need something like 6 inch overs.

Any advice on length and suppliers would be much appreciated

DrT

Re: Oversize fork tubes - advice

DrT have you modified the head stock at all? is there additional stretch in the frame etc? if you are just going to add the raked trees and then some longer forks then i wouldnt recomend it, it will cause the wheel to flop from side to side at the latest turn. It would be better to have the head stock raked a bit.

Re: Oversize fork tubes - advice

Hi Doc

Try having a looksy on here Tolle.se

There's tons of info on fork lengths v rake and trail.

If you dig around on the site I'm fairly sure you'll find what you're looking for.

The guy's at Tolle are well helpful and it's partly due to their advice that my chop works well. See Chiefy's chopper threads on here somewhere.

They seemed happy enough to give advice by email, drop the experts a line.

Your trail should always be between 2" - 5" anymore or any less and you're asking for grief.
