if you go for a 100" black builders combo at $4898 add $400 for shipping
divide by 2 (current exchange rate) then add vat and import duty you would pay around £3500 for a motor, gearbox and primary drive delivered to your door.

Note that there's no manufacturer mentioned for the motors .. They won't be HD or S & S or any other reputable company (Hmmm .. HD's reputation may be questionable nowadays!) .. Ultima transmissions & primary drives may be ok but you wouldn't want to pay out for a motor you've never heard of ..

They are ultima motors, and are very reputable if you read any of the american mags they tend to come out on equally if not better than S&S and the like, the fact that they are sometimes half the price probably helps!
also I know a few people that have them over here as stock replacemenst as well as in custom bikes and they are excellent.

Midwest who make and supply them are now the largest aftermarket supplier in the US i believe

What's the warranty?

Will Jireh supply spares against a warranty claim?

I guess it's doubtful that these engines are built in the USA although Midwest supply them. probably of far eastern origin.

Sure they're Ultima? The ad only states that the transmission & belt drive is Ultima .. I've seen a few threads on HTT regarding Ultima motors & there seems to be mixed opinions. Some are OK, others last a few thousand miles then the problems start. Similar to Rev Tech I suspect - I'm sure they're not all bad though - but with cheap motors there's a reason that they're cheap .. Far East labour or parts manufacture - who knows? Personally I'd go with S & S for an aftermarket motor.

they will almost certainly be Ultima, as Jireh is Midwest Cycle's retail outlet. And the Ultima is Midwest's Motor.

All I have ever read about Ultima motors is the highest praise. And, don't quote me on this but I do believe they may be made in the USA.

You certainly cannot fault S&S on any level, but if there was a second choice and I had the money, it would be Ultima

I looked into engines in a big way when I was planning different projects over the years. Ultima only make engines for Evo style mounts. The engineering in their engines is of the highest quality. The El Bruto range is very good value for money.

However, the back up for their engines in this country is somewhat lacking, I dont want to send an engine or any components back to the US and foot the postage for any warranty work hence the reason I went S&S on more than one occasion.
