Stripdown Starts

I've been boring people on another forum with these pics so I thought I subject you lot to a glimpse of my winter project

I've started stripping down the Wide Glide, hopefully I'lll be able to post more pics as things progress, assuming that I get it done and the bike doesn't end up festering in the garage for years to come

Still it gives me something to do

Cheers,
Rob.

Yes BaZa the stabilizers are screwed down, and the bike is strapped down securely, you can see the strap on the floor

As to why I'm doing it. I was thinking the paint needed a bit of a refresh, and I was planning to put some apes on it and it needs new exhausts and a different carb and Postie convinced me that as I was going to all that trouble I may as well take the engine out and get the frame powder coated etc, etc.

Plus I want to renew some of the wiring loom and give the engine a check over. I probably won't do much to the lump as it runs ok and hasn't done that many miles but I'll get the covers off and have a poke inside.

I may also upgrade the clutch if I have any cash left.

Also I need to get a new seat because I'm fed up with Mr Bursledon comparing it to a Chesterfield Sofa The man has no style

Cheers,
Rob.
