Re: Kelso July 14th to 16th

Kelso weekend
What can I say …

There is no denying great weather always helps - the heat, the sun, the blue sky, it was just ideal. But then you throw into the mixture the company which was just first rate! The excellent craic, (sides are still hurting with all the laughing) an undeniably fantastic venue and last but not least a cracking array of bikes - nothing could have turned out better. It seems that each year surpasses the next and that is very true of this year especially - it was absolutely bloomin’ stormin'

Over the duration of the BMF event at Kelso the stand was visited by many bikers and friends from all over the UK. Many of them dropping by just to say hello, share a handshake, bear hug, a brew and a wee blether. A lot of them accumulated from years of biking, but isn’t it always great catching up with old familiar faces, raking over past rallies, good memories, good solid friends, no more than that - brothers and sisters - wicked!

Also, there was quite a few new people came along for a chat and a look at the bikes we had this year ranging from Shovels to V Rods and of course a Buell, every bike brought its own individual character and flavour to the stand! A good deal of these people were interested in the club and looks like some of them will join up. The Scottish Regions are most definitely looking stronger with members from the North, Central and Dumfries areas included growing steadily.

Didn’t even make it to Kelso was so good on site, and if anything can keep you away from Kelso town it must be good. Had a BBQ on Saturday night and managed to smoke the midges away a bit at least but I understand that Greenpeace were going around checking the tents as there seemed to be quite a lot of snoring bears in the locality. Thankfully ear plugs were readily available, especially for our tent!

So, same place, same time next year - book early to avoid disappointment. Many thanks to the fine traders of the BMF who helped us out with extra tickets to get our many members on site. We will have a beer with you later in the year .....

Tams right, still recovering - must be getting long in the tooth

Last but not least by any means - a great big thank you to everybody who turned up, helped out and contributed to an awesome event.

Later

Mac
