Jeez, Bollicky...

Was well impressed with your sound equipment! I've never listened to valve action on the FXRS up close and personal before. A new experience!

And cheers for the tappets. I owe you a pint.

Hope you get the clatter sorted soon.

Re: Bollickys big end buggered

Hello Rick ,
Sorry to hear your troubles , how are you getting on , are you back on the road yet ?
Warranties are only as good as the paper they are written on and I think Harley use recycled bog paper that disintegrates after 17 years or a week before any trouble is found whichever is the soonest !!!
Hope to see you out and about soon anyway , all the best , Ken

Re: Bollickys big end buggered

Well, I have the bottom end in a crate and it will soon be off to matts machine shop for repair, rang them the other week and what a treat to talk to someone who knows their stuff and doesn't keep directing you to the underpants department and rob you just for saying HD.
All this grief is my own fault though in the bottom of the crank case I found some blasting shot from when I had cylinders and head done. Should have washed them another 10 times. Be back on the road when funds allow.
Cheers.

Re: Bollickys big end buggered

Doesn't mean the shot was what buggered your big end, could have been sitting there harmlessly, more likley bits from when the wrist pin clip came out.

Depends on the size but it is probably to big to have got into the big end!

Thumbs up Re: Bollickys big end is back

Thanks to Matts Machine Shop my crank cases are back packed with a rebuilt crank new conrod assy, bearings, new oil pump and all shiney and new. So its out with the bbq paint to save my eyes in case the sun comes out. I also got a box full of the wrecked bit (everything) to play with.
Total for this part of the job including shipping to Wales and back £1050.
Start puttin it back together soon, shouldnt be to hard as I have got two hammers now and a new roll of gaff tape.
