Anybody into Rock & Blues in Notts?

What with the Running Horse and the Britannia Boat Club, plus a few other venues, there's some good live music around.

So if there's any riders interested in going out to see bands, let me know...

It'd be good to mix HD's with the Blues ;-)

Is that 'The Boat Club' at the side of Trent bridge. Was reknowned years ago as a bikers pub, bikers used to drink in 'the boat' and mods used to frequent 'the Brit' next door, many a happy Friday night spent there years ago. Good bands in 'The Running Horse' tho. I too have lost track of all the good venues in and around Notts, I'm moving back next week from pastyland.

Sounds like we should get some HD's down to 'The Boat' soon as we can ;-)

Nuthin' wrong with any bike as far as I'm concerned...

I'll have no snobbery, I've ridden all sorts of bikes, and would rather ride anything than nothing anyday!

running horse is so crowded you can't move inside there, been twice and whilst the music is great its too crowded and not enjoyable

as for parking your bike outside or in the immediate vicinity of the running horse you would need to check the bus timetable for the trip home

I think you'll find if there's a good or 'high profile' band on *anywhere* it'll be crowded...

The Runner is a small venue, but I for one don't want to see a blues band (or whatever) in a polite, seated venue...

The atmosphere's all part of the fun ;-)

As to security, yeah, it is a dodgy part of town, but with some vigilance and physical security it should be ok... nothing in life comes with a guarantee though.

The thing is, if the value of one's bike means you can't go out and see a band then maybe the bikes calling the tune!

Still, there's lots of good music dvd's to watch at home ;-)

Re: Anybody into Rock & Blues in Notts?

A couple of us Coasters will be cruising around the Long Eaton - Nottingham area in the week of the 8th - 15th Sept (though not very fast - approx 4mph ) Are there any places that you might be meeting in around the area, like the pubs you have mentioned with music etc, and not too far from a canal
Something like MFN for example, though I have no idea what it is really like.

It would be great to meet up with some of you if possible - of course we won't have our bikes

Food would be a plus (after all we are Coasters)

For good food and lovely location I can recomend where I work. 'The Burntstump Country Park' Near Arnold. Excelent waiting staff -well some of us
There's always bike nights going on here somewhere on any given night too.

Bob, phone me closer to the dates you are here, the Erewash Canal,Long Eaton to Langley Mill is at the bottom of my street, I don't expect you'll be at my rally this year 'cos it's the same weekend as Mikes Farm Party.
Phone number in Quin, cheers,
Fuz.
