Re: How about a ride to to 'Vic in Coalville?

As well as the great roads and forests in North Notts, Derbyshire is only a few minutes away. For some great rides try the peak district. Cat and Fiddle pass or Snake pass are interesting rides and Derwent water is worth seeing while you're heading towards Snake pass. Dovedale is beautifull and it's well worth getting off the bike and walking along the river.

Seeing as you're up in the midlands now, why don't you come along to one of the east midlands region meetings at the Smithfield in Derby?

Re: How about a ride to to 'Vic in Coalville?

I'll post a few photos from last nights Ashby Folville meet on my photo page (link below) if anyone wants to take a look...

It was an amazing turnout (first time I've been, so I don't know how unusual it was) and a great atmosphere.

However halfway through my camera battery died, so I didn't get much photography done ;-(

That'll teach me not to charge it up... I felt almost as daft as the poor bloke who dropped his Varadero right infront of the pub.

Helping him up with it, bloody hell... heavy bike + high centre of gravity = a hernia I reckon.

I know I can lift an Ultra on my own, 'cos years ago I did ;-)

But it took three of us to get it upright... Big trail bikes... you can keep 'em!

Re: How about a ride to to 'Vic in Coalville?

Hi all well the event was awesome as ever, but I think I have to get there earlier as by 18:20 it was heaving and I was lucky to get parked near the pub. The car exhibits were very good and it was nice to see so many bikes of all ages and types but it was good to see an event that ran smoothly without the need for the police.
