Evo Dyna won't rev

Afternoon all, my 94 evo Dyna ticks fine but dies when I open the throttle. First happened whilst I was giving it some on a sunny Sunday afternoon, pulled out to overtake a car, wound it back, initially took off great but then all power went and I had to limp home on 2000 revs (at most). Starts fine, idles fine but any suggestion of a right hand and it dies back. Any suggestions?Cheers in hopeful anticipation
Bill

Yup. Or maybe a blocked jet.

I'd suggest whipping the carb off and giving it the once over.

Re: Evo Dyna won't rev

When you say ''all power went'' what exactly do you mean??

A lot of backfiring and spluttering and banging?

Total shutdown of the motor, lights, etc....?

Make sure a nut is not loose on any circuit breaker, and battery connections are TIGHT.

(Just trying to cover the electrical/vibration angles too)

If you are now going to tell us that the bike is getting hard to start in the garage, that's a new ball game....

Also check the filler cap, just whip it off. Sometimes the vent gets blocked causing a vacuum in the tank.
