Softail outer primary cover

Any of you guys know if a 99 model outer primary cover will fit onto a (Just found out that my bike is actually a 98 model) 98 model? I want one with 5 holes on the derby

Thanks Girlyglide you're an . I just want to change mine from a 3 hole to a 5 hole. There just seems to be more options on derby covers with 5 holes. I know it sounds daft but when you want something you want it. So the 5 hole is from a twin cam model. I take that it doesn't make any difference as the clearence for the clutch is the same?

can you not drill and tap the 3 hole cover to make it accept a 5 hole cover or did the factory change the diameter of the inspection cover to stop people doing this

There are no problems with clearance on the clutch. You should be able to find a TC outter primary on eBay quite easily, in fact there were 3 listed just recently with very minor scratches under the clutch housing.
