HSR mikuni carb

I have just got an HSR42 Mikuni carb. It was second hand but in excellent condition. Unfortunaley there are no instructions.
Does any one have a set i could scrounge. There are a couple of small pipes on the right side of the card viewed from the back that i am not sure of. One maybe for the VOES switch and the other for the vacuum fuel tap, but i am guessing here.

It was jetted for a Shovelhead and will be fitting it to my FXR.

ANY info accepted. I have been to their web page but i cant find what i want there

Thumbs up Re: HSR mikuni carb

That is a GREAT link for working on the carburettor at any time. Will come in very handy I'm sure

When you're new to these bikes like I am, stuff like this really helps to learn your way around the machine.

Cheers

Neil

A big help as just bought a HSR42 for Angie's Sportster.

Re: HSR mikuni carb

Thanks Dave, i had found on of the Pdf's but not the other. The one i had not seen shows the pipe fittings that i was not sure about.

I made a mistake in saying it was an HSR it's not it's an HS. Not a lot of difference by the look of things. I belive they made some alterations to the slide on the HSR.

All said and done it sure feels a nice carb. Will have to wait for fitting though as the engine is partially stripped to change the valve guide oil seals

Another question, who is a good outlet for these in this country. I need two throttle cables

Re Cables

Allens Performance Mikuni &#38 Keihin Carbs

The guy died and his wife ran things but looks like she sold out.Still think they're a good bet.
New site's a bit strange, all the links are on far right and cables right at bottom, looks like it was designed for the Odeon and you're looking on a laptop.

Re: HSR mikuni carb

I used a HSR for a year or so on my evo, but found, even properly set up it used a lot of fuel. I've now got the C.V. back on with a thunder slide kit it.
It'll provably ice up a bit more than the Mukuni, & I know it's not quite as responsive but it's back to over 40mpg.

I have all my manuals for when I fitted my HSR42 to my 1200 Sportster, properly set up (Pice 'o' p1ss) the MPG is a good if not better than original CV, just need to get the gap right for the accelerator pump first then work from there, if I can do it anyone can!

My standard cables were ok for my installation, just needed to adjust them out and route the cables in from the opposite side from factory, but went ok....in-fact really pleased.
