Re: Sidestand

I had the same with my sportster altho i didn't have a problem with the nuts business lol, the answer is going to see a good indie (independent workshop) and they can do just about anything to the side-stand. They understand what you're saying and what the problem is and come up with a solution. Don't go to a dealer as they will try and sell you some extension thingy and they won't look properly or know what they're talking about, well that's my experience anyway.

Re: Sidestand

Hi Shoei!

Sympathies! I can't offer a solution other than to suggest you stick with it for a bit. That stand is very useful in so many other ways, such as locking on when parked (the bike will slide down a steep hill on it without falling over) and it will also take the full weight of the bike if you jack the frame up from the other side.

Have you tried folding it up before getting on and getting off before putting the stand down? Looks real cool! It is also free. Otherwise try sliding around in the saddle, nonchalent like, to improve leg reach.

I also have cursed the things, but over the years have overcome the challenge they provide, sometimes folding it up or getting off first, if I am feeling confident, or just stretching out. I reckon my left leg is more like a ballerina's....

Re: Sidestand

Thanks for all the input everyone. The extender looks to be the answer.
