Front Rubber Mount on 88 FXR

Does anyone know what size the bolt is that goes thro the front rubber engine mount on my 88 FXR.

The one thats fitted is 3/8,

The book says 3/8",

But the holes it goes thro are at least 1/2 ",

This fit goes against the grain a bit ,and just doesn't feel right to me , is it right.?

Chilly as its a nut and bolt and a big washer I would go for as big as possible that fits maybe a 7/16?.

It wouldn't have worn because it is or should be a tight as an ex fireman's wallet.

Wallet !! i can't afford a wallet.

Yes i would like to put a real fit bolt in,but i'm just going by what the Manual is saying at the moment,not that i can see a reason for it being such a poor fit.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of the twitchy handling problem i posted about a while back,the tins are away being painted,so i thought i'd sort out the things which i was advised to look at by the good folks on here.
So far everything is ok and in line ,just this bolt at the moment that doesn't seem right,but most probably of no consequence to my problem.?

Its a 3/8"bolt in 1/2" hole.
