Bloody linkage ..

on my 98 evo Roadking,
there is a splined shaft that comes out of the gearbox on the left hand side, this is connected by a pinch bolt sort of arrangement, to the link arm and then in turn to the gear shift lever,
well the pinch bolt keeps coming loose and sliding away towards the rear of the primary casing,
I have removed the bolt and slid the pinch clamp back towards the gearbox , and then loctited and tightened the bolt back up.
but the little fucker keeps coming away and sliding to the end. after a few miles. what i want to know is can I get a new replacement pinch clamp
and is there enough room to slide it off and replace, or do i need to take apart all the casings. i dont want to put a longer bolt and nut on the end
cos this is precariously close to the secondary drive belt and may touch
causing belt snap.
as always any advice greatly appreciated.

Re: Bloody linkage ..

Cheers for that Baz
its bit like nOs 24 and 7 but different
mines a 98 evo so may be different from your twin cam 02

bloody thing refixed it again this morning, after just a few minutes it had rattled itself to the end of the splined shaft again, just worried it may come off when I`m out somewhere,

Re: Bloody linkage ..

It's parts 29 and 3 on the last post that Spicey means and it's a primary off job. You will need to check that the splines on part 34 aren't worn at the same time.
