Ok Cables ordered, just hope they are right length. It says in my service book (Clymer) to remove fuel tank when replaceing cables. Is this totally necessary as it seems like a bit of overkill? I got the old cables out ok, but these were not the original ones so were probably routed differently. Thanks Tony |

That is not a lot to go on. Why are you replacing the cables and what bike are you talking about? Removing the tank to ensure the cables are routed well is hardly difficult, so that is good advice.

| Re: Throttle Cables Part2
Ooops It is a 1986 FLST Heritage Softail. The throttle cable snapped so am going to replace both. Carb was changed to S&S Super E by someone else and they fitted stainless cables that were always too long, so am getting standard ones to fit. As the tank is split, it seems like a lot of work to remove when I can feed them through ok. But just checking to see if it is totally necessary. |
