Re: Heavy Clutch

I fitted a clutchlite to my 1996 fatboy last year. Easy to fit & best thing i have done on the bike in years.

Also tried different lubricants for the cabe & found the best one to be Wurth HSS2000 High Temp penetrating grease in a spray, Brilliant stuff

Re: Heavy Clutch

I fitted an 'AMP Power Clutch' device to my EVO Superglide around two years ago and haven't looked back. It's an absolute doddle to fit to the underside of the clutch lever and reduces lever effort by between 30 & 50%.
I was particularly fortunate to find some ex-demo units which had been displayed at shows in the USA and as such, cost me $45 plus shipping, near enough half price, so may well be worth checking out E-bay!

For info on this device, look up the J & P Cycles website and search 'AMP Power Clutch', Part No: 500-408. They retail new at $89.99. Good luck!

Re: Heavy Clutch

Got an Easy Pull Clutch Kit for big twins 87-up. Its packaged by MidWest. http://www.midwestmc.net/wwwmidwest/pdfs/0526.pdf I was assured by the seller on ebay that it will fit FXR. However looking at Midwest website it says not for FXR. Have had a wee look around internet and find these things will fit an FXR but, due to the angle of the cable entry, will cause excessive wear on the cable itself. http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/tr...endations.html My supplier tells me it will fit and it will not be an issue.

Has anyone used this on an FXR? How did it go?

Thanks for posting that! That's the device I mentioned earlier but didn't know the name of! I was advised I should have used one of these instead of my Clutchlite, as they maintain cable travel.

Re: Heavy Clutch

I found that the major benefits of the 'AMP' unit was the ease of fitment, taking me less than 30 minutes and as you point out, the fact it retains normal cable travel. Surprisingly, neither is it particularly unsightly once in position. All in all, a good solution for relatively low investment.
