Re: tyres for sportster

Replaced a venom on my 2003 Hugger the other week. Sons a tyre fitter so no problems, I,ll ask which dealer they came from.

He did mention something about venoms and Avon and continuity of supply, I have to ask him bout that as well.

As Baza says check tyre pressure on their website. It is significantly higher, low pressure will result in wall damage, plus early flattening off of the tyre (not just my upright riding and disbelief in the Laws of Counter Steering).

Re: tyres for sportster

I have a '57 anniversary model. I fitted a 160 on the rear which fits great, it looks much better than the dunflop 150 & I have the scratches on the exhaust to prove their ability in corners. I wouldn't use th dunlops for a childs swing, by comparrison they are terrible. When I've run these venoms down I'll be using another pair.

Anyone know the pressures on a sportie solo 16 stone and 2 up me n a 10 stone bag of spuds!

Same on my 1200r,they seem fine tyres,& the bike is flickable through the turns with so far plenty of grip.

Put Venoms on my 1200L, great tyres, only used the old Dunlops for 1500 miles, gave them to the tyre bloke.

Re: tyres for sportster

Not road tested yet but I have just fitted a Cobra on the back of the Shovel and a mate of mine has had one put on the back of his Sportster. He should do 1500 to 2000 miles in the next couple of weeks so we will get feedback. In the past he had Venoms. Going off my 09 RK the Cobra is first class.
