Right,deep breath,calm thoughts. If I lock this,the only loser will be the OP,a club member that came here for advice. My thoughts as an amateur dabler,are to just ride it steady,don't over rev it,and don't lug it. If you can do it in say 5 rides of 100 miles,so much the better.Sitting in jams,or a quick thrash down the shops,isn't what you want.Do the milage on give and take roads,sitting at 55 for 500 miles on the motorway won't do it.You'll feel how the engine is running,after the first 100 miles,let it run along at 60-65 in top for a few miles. When you get to 500,carry on building it up,getting to 501 miles then wacking it up to 90 wouldn't be any better than not running it in at all. Change the oil at 1000 miles,then revert to normal servicing. |

i thought you had to re-profile the efi if its a new bike or up the main jet (and poss. the pilot) if its a carb. always assuming non stock pipes and filter have been fitted!
