1991 883 drive belt

Morning,
trying to find a drive belt for my sporster, been quoted a lot of money,
anyone know cheap as budget not that big and a new Harley one is about £200 !

You should be able to get one cheaper than that! Try some of the suppliers ilisted as giving a discount to club members

I have seen cheaper ones used but both failed before much mileage had been covered. A chain conversion might be both cheaper and a lot more reliable in the long term.

When i said cheaper I didn't necessarily mean inferior. We use belts from S&S (who know a thing or two about performance) and haven't yet had a return or complaint but then again we know how to fit them correctly.

Belt failure normally falls into one of these categories:-

Poor adjustment
Poor alignment
Unavoidable road debris damage (usually the result of someone removing the lower belt guard)

Chain conversions have their own (limited) advantages and (many) disadvantages.

This thread is about getting a replacement belt not a replacement chain so perhaps it should be left like that Tony.
