help to remove something

hi all

sorry to be a pain again but i need a little bit more help

im in the process of replacing the stator on my bike, i have the left hand side sorted but im struggling to remove the front of the 2 plates on the right hand side of the bike (where the wirings fed though), the piece im having problems removing is the forward of the two covers - i have removed all of the allen bolts that i can see but the thing is still rock solid. What i need to know is do i have to remove the rear cover aswell (the bit that the brake reservoir attaches to) or should the front on come off separately.

cheers for reading and hope you can understand what ive explained

pasty

Re: help to remove something

You need a manual. There are 4 cams are behind the front plate and sometimes they come out with it.

Re: help to remove something

It sounds to me that you are trying to remove the cam chest - if so stop. I take it you haven't got a manual or you haven't read it if you have.

Your description of the "front cover" on the right side of the engine would seem to point to the cam cover. With the rocker covers still on and the pushrods in place you'll be sorry if you remove the cam cover (even if you're unlucky enough to do it).

I don't intend to try and describe how to do this job or even understand why you want to remove the cam cover in order to replace a stator.

You might be better off joining the club then you borrow a manual,
taking cam covers off to remove wires, says you need a manual.
