Re: last help question

Have you checked that it's charging after you fitted the new parts?

Re: last help question

I agree deffinatley sounds like an electrical problem.

I would put a volt meter on the battery and see if the batteries getting charged.

12.5v to 13v on tick over and 14v when you open the bike up is what you should be looking at. It might be worth checking earth points just for the hell of it.

It could be a battery on its last legs also.

Re: last help question

yes i have retested everything electrical, charged the battery left it its still hold the charge, have completed the voltage/charging tests

edit - ive just been and had a good once over on the bike and i noticed that the carb had unattached itself from its mountings - i have reattached it now so going out for a ride and hopefully this has cured it.

thanks for your replies everyone and ill let you know the results when i get back

Take the battery off and get it tested, mine was holding the charge, but not for long.

If its none of these then its not a charging problem, they you start to need to look at coils ect.

Re: last help question

Hmmmmm.........what does voltage across the battery terminals show when you turn key ON...? Not the engine, just turn the key on. This is a hillbilly load test. it should not drop by much more than half a volt.

Re: last help question

hi all,
sorry for the late reply but my laptop has been running worse than my bike was :-), well i seem to have fixed the problem on my bike.
It turns out that the problem lied with the carb not actually being attached to the bike so all is almost well with the bike now, only another 1001 jobs to do.

so thanks for all your replies everyone, i really do appreciate all of the help you have given
