Re: puncture preventative

You can have a tubeless spoked wheel. It should say on the tyre if it's tubed or tubeless

Re: puncture preventative

And theres me thinking only alloy, non spoked wheels are tubeless..

;) the tyre does say tubeless....But spoked wheels are built up from a rim.as we know,The raised centre section of the rim is two foil, one to impart strength and two it serves to keep the end of the spokes and nut away from the tubes.how is it sealed,to take tubeless i wonder.

Cheers Tony

Re: puncture preventative

If the tire says tubeless it means that it MAY be run tubeless.
All HD laced (spoked) wheels use tubes.
Puncture preventative is a waste of money, with spoked wheels & a tube the tire will go flat anyway, plus the material will form globs in the tube & throw the wheel off balance.

Re: puncture preventative

Ok just had a look at the wheels.nut holding the threaded valve against the rim, then it`s tubed. thats spoked back wheel.

But on the front spoked wheel, the valve is just rubber sat in the hole in the rim, which is then tubeless .........

Re: puncture preventative

I stuck the tubed stuff in mine before I went to France last year, had no problems on my sporty. Put it in myself, cost me £9: 99 plus the time taken to put it in.
