Lollypop: whatever you do don't do what my missus did a few years ago! when I was in the middle east, I brought back a Rotary watch that I bought out there and used for diving, it was good for up to 50 metres, anyway when I got home I cracked the face, so, in rain and if I was wearing it when washing, it would steam up, so I would put it on the mantlepiece to gently dry out! This particular evening, Glad thought she would speed the process up by putting the watch under the grill! This was not a good idea! one toasted watch! The moral is: if you need to dry it out, do it gently on a radiator or mantlepiece and then put some sealant on the edge of the glass! ;) (She did buy me a new one, but I bet it cost her more than I paid for it!!)

thanks one & all for replying to my problem,i will leave it for now & then probably sort it next winter when i put it away with the information given about uncrimping/crimping salution.once again thanks for all help given.tara for now lollypop
