suppliers of bits!!

having just changed my job im now in a position to be able to afford to start making my xl53c a little better. i want new tyres and poss wheels, 1200 conversion, nice looking and sounding exhaust, bigger tank and some paint work.
im moving to banbury in oxfordshire and wondered if anyone on here knows of any good shops and suppliers round this way that can do good work on my bike.
it will be a gradual process rather than one hit as im not that rich but i want to do it all this summer if i can.
any other ideas or tips to make it go better appreciated. its a standard bike with a stage 1 and screaming eagle pipes.
cheers
dan

Re: suppliers of bits!!

Dan,

When ever I’m passing by, always dropped into Boothill Motorscycles, between Oxford and Swindon.

Bought bits and pieces from there (bit far away from me to use them for servicing ) but guys I spoke to that used them for servicing / repairs etc, spoke really highly of them.

Just noticed its under new management, so might be worth asking around locally (Martin that used to run it was a top bloke and V V knowledgeable and always happy to have a chat).

Tombstone graphics was right next to it, seen some of there artwork, on bikes round there ...... top notch !

Re: suppliers of bits!!

try THS they do excellent mail order and their prices seem to be as competitive as anywhere else and their service is second to none

alternatively use the internet and order direct from the states it usually is cheaper and often quicker delivery

j&p have a good website with everything on it

usatwins.com have better prices but not quite as extensive range

have dealt with both and delivery is usually about 2 weeks and no problems with either
