Re: handlebars change

I fitted 9 1/2 riser and drags on my 89 Sportster. I kept the standard clutch cable, but went fo 6inch long throttle cables as there were at bit tight on full lock.

Thing is with riser it is difficult to hide the wires. I ran mine through the bars abd between the risers, they did show and spoil the lines a bit.

Cool Re: handlebars change

I've got pull back drags on my Sportie, the bolt thru the yoke type.
I've got standard cables, juss run em slightly differently as Hawkeye says!
Mine are about 6" rise, so don't need a longer cable for the throttle!
They are very comfortable to ride with and look a tad better than them buckhorns!

took standard bars off my roadking and stuck chubbies on.
looked at the gay buck horns removed them and fitted the old rk bars with no difficulty at all all fit a treat in less than 45min. the feel was magic.
dealers are always changing bars for customers and they sling the bars in a corner, you could do worse than ask?
after all they can only say no?

Re: handlebars change

Took the drag bars off my old xl53 and fitted flattracker bars-more upright riding position and more leverage particularly at low speed.I found myself to far forward and looking under my helmet peak with the drags but then again I'm a fat bas.....
Changed my new XL883C to flattrackers as well.Still got the dragbars so if you're near the Midlands make me an offer if that'a what you decide on.In fact think I've got the proper clutch cable and brake pipe as well
