Talking any tips to look out for

hi just brought my first harley a 2001 883 sportster its had 1200 conversion stage one kit with screaming eagle exhausts and hsr 42mm mikuni carb s/eagle h-d-ex 12p plugs got plenty of grunt but seems to choke up in traffic tried adjusting mixture but dont seem to make much difference been told to put breather kit on would it make much difference? iam a motor mechanic but not brill with bikes allso skint paying hp 4 it live in foxton cambs and would like some ideas also is there any problems they suffer from many thanks

hi jaybe,
i had a problem with my sporty running rough and cutting out at low revs, more often in the wet.
i re oiled the air filter and it now runs like a dream. maybe worth a try?

will have a look at air filter but happens in dry as well and spits back through carb need to stobe the timing when i borrow timing light cos mine got nicked as well as my decent socket set

If you get stuck and want some friendly advice try REBS at Fen Rd Cambridge,there well into HD and are very helpfull.

Google REBS they have a web site.

Used to get over Foxton in the late 60s.Got £50 between 3 of us cleaning chicken sheds out with a tractor and two trailers,took us most of the weekend as well,it was good money for me at the time tho,wow thats a while back now.

OK, i know, i'm going now

CHEERS FOR THE INFO BEEN TO REBS COUPLE OF TIMES AND SPOKE TO JIM BROUGHT SOME S/HAND H/BARS FROM HIM HE's AN ALL RIGHT BLOKE VERY HELPFULL WOULD'NT MIND GETTING JOB THERE WILL HAVE TO GO THERE VERY SOON AND SEE WHAT HES GOT FOR SALE WANT FORWARD CONTROLS BUT LACK OF FUNDS YOU MUST HAVE WORKED AT TOP OF HILL IN FOXTON NEAR ME? VILLAGE HAS GROWN A BIT NOW WELL NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU AND THANKS AGAIN ARE YOU LOCAL THEN?

St Neots-- near the A1

It was Fowlmere not Foxton,close but not close enough (Dohh!! me ole heads going down hill fast)

cheers for reply not far down road from me black horse pub shut now only queens head only fairly decent nogood pubs round here if in area and fancy beer could meet half way and try pub in harlton? would like to meet some real bikers
